Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Arts and Sciences of the Universe Exhibition displaying works of local students, opening January 26

Baltimore, MD (PRWeb) January 26, 2012 Tags: Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will showcase exhibitions, literary arts and science students from Anne Arundel and Baltimore County Schools in the exhibition celebrates the beauty and diversity of nature. Walking with orchestra presentation of LIFE: A Journey Through Time, the exhibition will open on Thursday, January 26 at 4 pm in the main lobby of Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and remained on the display through the duration of the concert series. The exhibition will include paintings, photography, sculpture, poetry, prose, and further research by students from schools including Pikesville Middle School and Carver Arts Centre. The opening will be attended by students and their families, together with the BSO Music Director Marin Alsop and Frans Lanting, National Geographic photographer, the pictures are stunning focal point and inspiration for the composition of the Baltimore native Philip Glass. regarded as one of the world’s leading conductors for the visual arts and obedience to access in classical music, Marin Alsop made history with his appointment as music director of 12 of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. With his first concert in September 2007, he became the first woman head of the major American orchestras. It also holds the title of conductor emeritus at the Bournemouth Symphony in the United Kingdom, where he served as principal from 2002-2008, and music director of Cabrillo Contemporary Music Festival in California.


Tags: In 2005, Ms. Alsop was named MacArthur Fellows, the first conductor to receive this prestigious award. In 2007, he was pleased with the European Women’s Achievement Award, in 2008 he was inducted as fellow of the Academy of American science and American Music in 2009 he was named Conductor of the Year. In November 2010, he was admitted to the Hall of Fame to classical music. In February 2011, Marin Alsop named music director of the Orquestra Sinf? NICA do Estado de S? O Paulo (OSESP), or S? O Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, effective for the 2012-13 season. Ms. Alsop called the guardian of Top 100 Women list in March 2011. In 2011, Marin Alsop named Artist in Residence at the Southbank Centre in London, England.
